Bullous Dermatitis Herpetiformis Treated with DDS

Abstract
|

|
The patient was 42 year-old Korean male manifesting various sized bullae, pea to walnut in size, which were circinated- gyrated, crusted with conglomeration of each other, complaining of intense itchy and burning sensation over the skin lesion, and these bullous skin changes were seen on face, shoulder, back, upper and lower extremities buttock and chest, almost entire body surface, except a few escaped areas from the involvement were scalp, hands and feet. Author performed laboratory and histopathological studies on the case and established the diagnosis of bullous dermatitis herpetiformis with involvement on face which was unusal manifestation in adult, and had been experienced the treatment of the patient with, DDS (4-4¢¥ diamino-diphenyl-sulfone), the doses of 50mg-T50mg per day, was found to be satisfactory result.
Author made also discussions on diagnosis, presumeddetiological factors, the treatment of the disease, and included extensive review of the literatures of the disease.
